Nightmarish
My heart– falsely cradled by an opaque
Pretender. One hand extended, one soul
Pilfered; a weakening- a solid ache-
No desire to escape from the black hole.
Cherishing your heart, encased- ever dark.
Bruising of flesh concealed by lovely lies,
Tread lightly to avoid the wicked spark…
Obscuring vision to keep my own guise.
I cower before you. Yet I perish
Loving you despite the wounds I endure:
Knotted, entwined, vowed; a life nightmarish,
Never yearning to pursue endless cure.
Forever my curse, for here I will stay,
Live until his love causes my decay.
