Office Manager for the Office of Student Engagement

Full Time: 12-month position with benefits

Position Description:

Our busy, student-focused Office of Student Engagement is seeking a reliable, well organized, energetic, Office Manager.  We are looking for a professional who does not mind wearing multiple hats to handle day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency and customer service. The Office Manager will be responsible for providing administrative support for the Director of Residence Life, Director of Student Activities, Director of Student Conduct, and the Director of First Year Experience and Student Success. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative support related tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision. They will be flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse people.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organize office operations and procedures
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Responsible for ensuring that office operations and procedures are organized
  • Responsible for developing and implementing office policies by setting up procedures and standards to guide the operation of the office
  • Serve as the point person for maintenance, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, bills and errands
  • Participate actively in the planning and execution of Student Engagement major events (Orientation, Family Weekend, etc…)
  • Design and implement filing systems
  • Ensure filing systems are maintained and current
  • Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of information
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory
  • Handle student inquiries and complaints
  • Serve as the Advisor for the Junior Class

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a professional office setting or customer service position
  • Experience with Microsoft Word
  • Professional presence with excellent communication and written skills
  • Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality regarding all matters
  • Ability to exercise tact and good judgment in all aspects of decision making and in dealing with students, parents, faculty, and staff
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, work on multiple tasks concurrently, and set priorities in an environment that can be very busy
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proactive problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented and flexible
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated cultural competence, and experience working with diverse groups
  • Strong written and oral skills

Salary is commensurate with experience.
