General design know-how

  • Typography nerd
  • Color theory
  • Tech-savvy

Print design skills

  • Software: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat
  • Initial layout (flows in copy, gathers assets)
  • Prepares final files for print production
  • Good attention to detail when managing production

Digital and interactive design skills

  • Software: Photoshop, Premiere Pro (bonus), After Effects (bonus)
  • Email design (html or using web-based client)
  • Dynamic content: video, gif, animation
  • Keen to learn other apps inside and outside of the Creative Cloud
  • Basic understanding of HTML

Aesthetic

  • Awareness of trends in the marketplace and ability to evolve those trends to fit MBU brand and higher-ed space in general
  • Clean > Cluttered
