Mary Baldwin University’s Department of Athletics is seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant position for the Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field programs during the 2021-22 academic year.

This individual will report directly to the Head Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Coach and will perform tasks assigned, including but not limited to:

  • Attending all practices and games
  • Maintaining statistics for practice and games when needed
  • Managing recruiting database and organizing recruiting information
  • Meeting with recruits and families,
  • Monitoring facilities
  • Other office responsibilities as assigned in accordance with NCAA Division III and USA South Athletic Conference rules and regulations.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and have exceptional writing and communication skills. As a former student-athlete, this person should have knowledge of and prior work experience in intercollegiate athletics. The candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented and possess strong customer service skills.

This is a 10-month position beginning in August 2021 and is renewable by mutual consent for a second term for a two-year appointment. The position includes a $5,000 annual stipend, a campus meal plan and an 18 hour tuition waiver (contingent upon acceptance into the Masters of Education graduate program or the MBA program). This does not apply to other Masters/Doctorate programs at Mary Baldwin University.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree, valid driver’s license, First Aid, CPR and AED certification required.

Preferred Qualifications: Coaching experience within an NCAA Division III intercollegiate program; prior experience with recruiting, skill instruction, practice/game plan development, and administrative responsibilities required fiscal management and recruiting experience.
