The Biology Department at Mary Baldwin University invites applications for an adjunct professorship to begin August 2022. The department is seeking an individual with a strong commitment to inclusive pedagogies in science as well as enthusiasm for the environment of a small student-centered university.  The successful candidate will have expertise in Introductory Biology and must be able to teach lab-based courses.   (There may be a further spring ’23 opportunity to teach a field-oriented course in Environmental Biology as well.)

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Teaching Principles of Biology lecture and lab.
  • Using and/or developing suitable laboratory course materials in conjunction with current faculty.


  • MS in Biology or related discipline required, PhD preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
