Job Duties:
Planning:
- Determine goals and actions to pursue and what is necessary to achieve those goals
- Develop semester promotion plan with Marketing Manager & Business Manager
- Determine staffing needs, current and long-term, with HR Manager & Business Manager
- Understand and keep updated employee policies and procedures with HR Mgr & Bus Mgr
- Report inventory needs for shortage, promotions, customer requests, and other
Organizing and Collaborating:
- Keep Point of Sale (POS) system updated with current products & prices
- Collect and share accessible contact information of attendants and self
- Conduct with other assistant managers bi-weekly staff meetings – prepare agenda in advance, minutes after
- Attend weekly management team meetings (Business Manager calls weekly meetings)
- Lead management team meetings in the absence of Business Manager
- Copy Business Manager on all staff communication
- Share staff meeting agendas (in advance) and minutes (following) with Supervisor & Bus Mgr
Supervision & Leadership:
- Oversee all coffee shop operations
- Train coffee attendants on operating procedures
- Guide and inform coffee shop attendants for clear and consistent customer service
- Inform staff on a timely basis of changes in prices, offerings, procedures and more
- Serve as back-up Coffee Attendant when required carrying out all duties and responsibilities of that position
Staffing:
- Work with HR Manager to fill staffing needs and vacant positions
- Work with HR Manager on employee performance issues
- Share employee evaluations with HR Manager
- Serve as back-up Coffee Attendant when required carrying out all duties and responsibilities of that position
Control:
- Open respective coffee shop/coffee bar daily
- Prepare monthly sales reports
