School of Nursing

Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences includes the schools of health professions, and nursing. Launched in 2014 and located within a one-mile radius of Augusta Health, Augusta Free Clinic, University of Virginia Health System clinics, Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, and several senior care facilities, the college of health sciences gives students the experiential learning, knowledge, and skills to truly make a difference in someone’s life. Murphy Deming’s interprofessional approach to healthcare results in more competent clinicians and better healthcare delivery.

School of Health Professions

The School of Health Professions offers a range of programs including physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, and a post-professional occupational therapy doctoral program. Through an interprofessional approach, the school focuses on cultivating critical thinking and evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes. The school is equipped with purpose-built facilities for health education and boasts faculty who are experts in various practice areas. These faculty members offer personalized mentorship to students. Through these resources, the School of Health Professions ensures that students gain the necessary experiences to become confident and compassionate healthcare providers.

Additionally, the School of Health Professions provides fully on campus and online bachelor’s and online master’s programs in healthcare administration. It also offers a unique joint MBA/MHA program in partnership with the School of Business at the Palmer College of Professional Studies. This program stands as the only endowed undergraduate program of its kind in the United States. It is taught by faculty with extensive real-world experience, both in physical classrooms and virtual settings.

School of Nursing

The school of nursing offers high-quality, rigorous undergraduate and graduate educational programs to prepare healthcare providers to be transformational and innovative nurse leaders who provide culturally competent care and exhibit professionalism, respect, integrity, and legal/ethical standards. The online and hybrid programs are specially designed to meet the needs of working nurses.
