White Rocks Falls is located beside the Blue Ridge Parkway and can be reached from either the Slacks overlook (Milepost 20), or from White Rock Gap (mile 18.5)

From the Slacks over look cross the Parkway, and proceed North, the Trail head can be seen from the road and is about 100 m north of the parking area. The trail descends through a mixed hardwood forest with many remnants of the American Chestnut, then proceeds into a stand of Hemlock, several of which have succumbed to the wooly adulgid.

At the base of the first descent a stream begins to parallel the trail providing the moisture for a Rhodendron thicket.
