The Math Lab at Mary Baldwin UniversitySchedule Appointment
The Academic Resource Center provides tutoring for nearly every math course offered at MBU. Our staff of student employees can assist you with College Algebra, Precalculus with Trigonometry, Intro to Calculus and Analytic Geometry, Discrete Mathematical Structures, and Multi-variable Calculus.
The MBU Math Lab is staffed by professor-recommended tutors with a wide range of abilities. Using resources provided in The Center for Student Success, along with input from professors, Math Tutors help students succeed in their course work in a friendly, non-judgmental environment.
Tutoring sessions usually last 30 minutes, and appointments can be made on the Math Lab Master Schedule. Walk-ins are welcome, but scheduled appointments take priority.
A few suggestions to help you get the most out of your tutorial:
- Expect tutors to help you with your homework, but don’t expect them to do the homework for you.
- Come prepared with all materials needed, including any instructions from your professor.
- Attend tutorials regularly for optimal results.
- Plan ahead — come to the Math Lab well before tests or projects are due. Tutors can assist you with work from any of your math courses.
The Math Lab is located in the Center for Student Success, 1st floor Grafton Library. Contact Dr. Jenny Joczik, Director of the Academic Resource Center, for more information: email@example.com / 540-887-7250/ 116A Grafton Library
