The Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (VWIL) will hold a Military Ball Parade on Saturday, March 25, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the track on Mary Baldwin University’s campus. The community is invited to attend this free parade.

Cadets will celebrate the first VWIL parade that took place on March 26, 1996. A drum ceremony, color guard, pass and review, firing of the cannon, marching band and military formations will be featured in this retreat parade.

VWIL, now in its fifth year, made history last spring when 22 young women graduated from its inaugural class. It is a comprehensive program for Mary Baldwin students who are interested in intensive leadership training. The program includes academic requirements in mathematics, sciences, statistics, computer science, foreign language, leadership studies, military training, and outdoor education programs focusing on the development of confidence and teamwork.
