A group of 14 from Mary Baldwin University visited Cherident, Haiti, last week for an alternative Spring Break trip, conducting community needs assessment research; providing physical therapy for more than 150 people; and working with that community to create a mural that reflects the history, landscape, and identity of the area. “We gained insights about Haitian culture, and our own,” writes Associate Professor of Communication Bruce Dorries in his regular newspaper column.
