New Options Available for Purchasing Bricks to Support Alumnae House

The Office of University Advancement is now offering two pledge options through a new crowdfunding initiative for alumni and friends who wish to purchase engraved brick pavers in support of the Alumnae House renovation.

The $500 cost to purchase a personalized brick paver for the Alumnae House walkway can now be divided into five installments of $100 or 10 installments of $50, making it easier for Mary Baldwin University’s alumni and friends to participate in this unique fundraising effort. The crowdfunding site, give.marybaldwin.edu/yourbrick, provides donors with an easy way to make their one-time gift or set up pledge payments to secure their brick as well as help Mary Baldwin reach a 175-brick goal by the close of its 175th anniversary year.

The Alumnae House brick crowdfunding project will end at 11 p.m. on March 31.

“We are excited to launch this effort to encourage more members of our community to participate in the Pave the Way brick campaign for the Alumnae House,” said Associate Vice President for University Advancement, Tamara Ridenour. “The funds support an essential renovation effort while offering alumni and friends a special opportunity to commemorate their relationship with the university or honor loved ones.”

The Pave the Way Campaign was introduced on August 31, coinciding with Mary Baldwin’s launch of the university name change and the 175th anniversary year kick-off. To date, 97 bricks have been reserved toward the university’s goal of installing 175 bricks in the walkway during the anniversary year.

A grand re-opening and dedication ceremony for the Alumnae House will be held during the All-Alumni Homecoming weekend at 5 p.m. April 22.
