Four students from Mary Baldwin University will participate in the 19th annual statewide collegiate Wells Fargo Ethics Bowl, put on by the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges.

Senior Eshala Bunch, senior Kalli-Anne Hymons, junior Faith Parker, and senior Roniqua Jackson represent Mary Baldwin University, with  Associate Professor of Philosophy Edward Scott serving as faculty coordinator. The MBU team will compete head-to-head against other highly qualified students from Virginia’s 15 leading independent colleges and universities. They will deliberate a variety of case studies highlighting ethical dilemmas.

Many notable individuals from career fields including business, law, education, finance, and journalism will be present to give feedback on team presentations.

The ethics bowl is February 11–12, 2018, on the campus of Hampden-Sydney College, with the final round of competition taking place at 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 12 in the Johns Auditorium. The winning team will be announced at 12:30 p.m.

The team from Hampden-Sydney College took home the trophy at the 2017 Ethics Bowl. Mary Baldwin University came in second place, winning three of the four matches.
