Thoughts on Covid-19 by Daniel Campos

Just like everyone else, I really hate the fact that the coronavirus is such an issue right now. I had been looking forward to finishing out the semester with my friends on campus, and having it all be switched to the online classes makes it so much harder to focus and try to stay on track. It is made even worse by the fact that I had been told I would be allowed to stay on campus, and then not even a week later I was told I would have to leave. Being at home makes it much harder for me to concentrate and focus on my work, and my motivation goes so much lower than when I am in an actual classroom setting.

That being said, I do love being back home, even if it is much earlier than I had planned. I’m happy to be back with my family and my friends from high school. I was happy to be working again, even if it’s only a shift or two every week. And then North Carolina was put on quarantine just yesterday, which means that things are getting even worse. I know that there are other people in the world dealing with things much worse than I am right now, but I am also very frustrated that this is happening in the first place when all people have to do is stay home like they are being told in order to prevent the spread of the virus. I understand that there are many people who just can’t stay home for valid reasons, but the people who are going out just to party or hang out are making this whole situation even worse.

At this point, I am just hoping that the situation is over soon so that we can all go back to normal soon.
