“Mirror” by Cadye Cook

Look around and what do you see?

The world full of hate and anger.

Not love, never love.

Look around and what do you see?

People on the street fighting for a cause.

Not hope, never hope.

Look around and what do you see?

A yard with a superhero symbol.

Not answered, never will be answered.

Whoa.

Look around and what do you see?

The world banding together to fight.

A call answered.

Look around and what do you see?

People fighting for a cause.

Giving hope where it is lost.

Look around and what do you see?

A world with light and dark,

And shades of grey.

Whoa.

You see a world that has both love and hate.

You see a world with hope, but failing to have it.

You see a world that desperately wants peace, but doesn’t understand that-

History forgotten equals History repeated.

Here is your world. You must find your way in it.
