Biographical Note: Anna Stone is an aspiring painter born, raised, and based in Tupelo, MS. For as long as she could remember, she has loved creating art. Her love for art grew exceedingly after being was diagnosed with dyslexia and began to use painting to cope with the stress felt while facing academic difficulties. She works in different mediums such as oil paints and gouache and in many different forms, her specialties being realism and a style of distortion/abstraction painting she developed while studying art at Ole Miss. The focus of her work is to draw the viewer in with the varying colors and sizes of my pieces, and engage them with the images’ form. Instead of making the viewer see and feel what she wants them to, she paints forms that trigger and engage the viewers’ conceptual understanding and emotion.
