The Graduate Experience

Undergrads don’t get to have all the fun. Mary Baldwin University graduate students educate in Ghana, host chili cook-off fundraisers, help out with the American Shakespeare Center’s annual block party, and volunteer as tutors for local high school students, all in the name of linking learning with life.

We know that some students may never (or only occasionally) set foot on campus for class. But our faculty, advisors, student community, and campus resources impart a sense of belonging and connection with something bigger.

Discover MBU

College is academically rigorous, for sure, but life at Mary Baldwin University is about so much more than hitting the books. We realize that being a student is just part of who you are, and MBU’s range of extracurricular activities represents the amazing diversity of our student body.

Every experience is set up to encourage your natural potential for leadership (there are actually more than 570 ways to lead on campus!). We guarantee that you’ll learn just as much when participating outside the classroom as you do while studying.

On field and court, Mary Baldwin University athletes — members of the NCAA Division III USA South Athletic Conference — gain the confidence to compete and the courage to support their teammates as well as their opponents. MBU offers varsity athletics in basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
