Get MBU-Ready! A Guide for New Students
Between now and move-in day, this New Student Guide is your home base for everything Mary Baldwin University.
1. Apply for Housing
Tell us about your preferences, request a roommate if you wish, and inform us of any medical accommodations.
4. Pre-register for Courses
Provide input to help us to create the best preliminary schedule for you. You’ll get your official schedule at Summer Orientation.
5. Get Emergency Alerts
Baldwin Alert Messages, or BAM, is how you’ll get crucial notifications from tornadoes to to snow closings. You must sign up to receive alerts.
6. Fill Out Your Health Form
Please make an appointment and complete this form with your health care provider. The health form is required for attendance at MBU.
TUESDAY 8/14 Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (VWIL) MOVE-IN
You will be assigned a move-in time coordinated by the Office of Student Life. Please watch for directions included in your housing assignment email that will arrive near the first week of August.
SATURDAY 8/18 ATHLETE MOVE-IN
Cross-Country, Volleyball, Club Soccer
SUNDAY 8/26 BAND MEMBER MOVE-IN
MONDAY 8/27 NEW STUDENT MOVE-IN
For new students who are not involved in the previously mentioned groups, including transfer students: You will be assigned a move-in time coordinated by the Office of Student Life. Please watch for directions included in your housing assignment e-mail that will arrive around the first week of August. PEG student move-in is coordinated by PEG staff.
