Hawkweeds are able to reproduce asexually, this was unknown in Mendel’s time and probably the reason he was unable to duplicate his success with Peas using hawkweeds. 9 Was introduced to Maine from England as a garden ornamental in 1875, by the 1890’s it had spread to Michigan. 9

Description

Milky juice, basal leaves and orange flowers. Flower heads are composed of 5 to 25 flowers.45
