Natural history / FolkloreAll parts are edible, though older stems become fibrous. Said to provide the same benefits as garlic. Note many members of the lily family are poisonous so it is very important to make sure that the bulb in hand is a wild onion, in which case it will smell like an onion.28 The bulbs, bulblets and leaves are used as an addition to salads, or as a seasoning in soups and stews. |
