The Essence of Lounging

She relishes the firmness
Of the soil against her back,
The pressure of gravity
Pinning her body to the earth
Like a fly caught in a web—
A solid part of terra firma.
Perhaps when she finally
Decides to rise, her body will
Have left an indentation—
A memory of what has been.
