Job Duties:

You will provide administrative and physical support to faculty in the Physical Education Department for dance, fitness, and recreation classes, programs, and events.  Administrative (i.e., office) duties will include the design, creation, and distribution of communication materials like flyers, bulletin boards, surveys, and signs as well as content for online distribution through the web site and social media.  You will also assist in creating, copying, and distributing forms associated with these programs.  Physical support responsibilities will include organizing and cleaning equipment for classes (ex. yoga mats, towels, ballet barres) and may involve some walking to various points across campus to post communication materials or assist with setting up for events.

Qualifications:

  • Technologically savvy
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to lift and carry light exercise equipment
  • Design skills and an interest in dance/fitness are helpful, but not required

Skills you will develop: You will develop experience using different communications strategies to reach a variety of audiences as well as knowledge about dance, fitness, and movement styles.

Hours: 4-10 per week
