Job Duties:

Community Coordinator of the Office of the Chaplain serves as a liaison between campus/community entities and the Office of the Chaplain. The Community Coordinator will professionally represent the Office of the Chaplain, including but not limited to the following areas: Greeting visitors, attending meetings, correspondences (phone and email), and maintenance of the office, completing mailings, marketing, office hours, and electronic and printed materials. The Community Coordinator is also responsible for the following events: Spiritual Life Fair in the fall and Holy Week electronic newsletter in the spring. The Community Coordinator will track on-campus spiritual groups and Staunton/Fishersville area spiritual group so as to provide such information for dissemination. Regular meetings with the Chaplain are required.

Expectations:

  • Self-motivation, since many of the work hours take place independently rather than in the office
  • Be conscientious in their performance
  • Answer phones, maintain office cleanliness (cleaning coffee maker and fridge)
  • Assist with mailings
  • Hang flyers around Staunton campus
  • Collect information and data
  • Be willing to take on different responsibilities through the year as they arise
  • Assist with events sponsored by the Office of the Chaplain
