Microsoft Office 365

Who can use Office 365?  All MBU students and full-time faculty have free access to the University’s Microsoft Office 365 suite of apps (all MBU staff who normally use a computer in their work do as well).

What do you get with Office 365?  It’s the most current version of the Microsoft Office productivity apps you’ve used for years: Word, Excel, OneNote and PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams. OneDrive cloud storage allows you to save, share, and access Microsoft files from anywhere you have an internet connection. (If you don’t have an internet connection, you can still work–your document will save to your device and sync when you get another connection.) MBU does not enable the installation of Microsoft Outlook. You should use your University-provided Gmail and Google Apps accounts for for email and calendar functions.

How do I get Office 365?  Once you have received your MBU credentials, set up your Microsoft account at office.com  Once you complete this process, you will see on your page at office.com all the MBU apps that are available for you to download and install or use when you click on the Install Apps button on the upper right of the page. You can download and install Office apps on up to 5 personal devices: PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, or Android.

How do I keep Office 365?  For students, if you leave MBU, you have 30 days to purchase your own license for Office 365 OR download your stored documents from OneDrive and switch to using the free Office for the Web apps available at office.com
