Arlington Asylum Office is looking to fill the position titled Arlington Asylum Internship.

Arlington Asylum Office| Unpaid Intern | Arlington, VA |
The Arlington Asylum Office is recruiting for an unpaid intern. Resumes will be accepted from students who are interested in a career in Immigration. The internship is located in Arlington, VA., and relocation expenses will not be paid by the office.
In this position, you will be responsible for assisting the Arlington Asylum Office on various areas of office operations.
Job tasks:
• Coordinate a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the office including, but not limited to: file delivery, auditing files, internal/external mail processing, customer service, and answering fax and email inquiries.
• Reviewing and processing routine applications and petitions for benefits; providing routine information and assistance on applications; locates case file documents and/or other material to make determination on status and tries to resolve problems or issues.
• Handles public inquiries; processes and checks in applicants appearing for interviews
• Basic research on conditions in refugee producing countries
• Other projects to support the adjudication of applications for asylum.
The Arlington Asylum Office will provide training, if necessary. This position requires some familiarity with the USCIS mission and it also requires strong organization, communication and listening skills. This internship will involve no travel outside the local commuting area.
