Summary of Position
The Instruction and E-Resources Librarian will connect partners and resources across the institution and beyond in the exploration of academic and creative scholarship.
This position will facilitate the curation, purchase, and promotion of e-resources, including the management of the library’s website (Libguides).
This position will deliver dynamic research instruction and consultation for groups and individuals, with a focus on online support.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide instruction in how to find, critically evaluate, and effectively use a variety of information sources, including teaching the University’s information literacy course.
- Deliver in-person and virtual reference assistance.
- Curate and promote the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) and other low-cost resources to expand the University’s offerings of affordable course content. Collaborate with faculty in the discovery and adoption and/or adaption of open materials.
- Partner with other library staff to manage and make accessible the library’s e-content.
- Foster and explore creative ways of delivering research and reference services on emerging digital platforms.
- Continue to develop professionally through active participation in professional associations and through other interdisciplinary activities. Serve on University committees as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Advanced degree –ALA-accredited master’s degree in Library/Information Science or a related advanced degree.
- Fluency managing e-resources.
- Demonstrated experience teaching information literacy sessions using the ACRL Framework.
- Demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new tools and technologies.
- Experience working effectively with a team to plan and complete projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Preferred
- Experience supporting digital scholarship in a library or research setting.
- Project management experience.
- Experience teaching technology, either one-on-one or in a classroom setting.
