Job Duties:

This position is responsible for the organization, upkeep, and maintenance of the costume shop under the guidance of the MFA costume shop managers. In addition, this position will be responsible for the following duties: restocking costumes, shoes, and accessories to proper locations; washing and dry cleaning costumes; checking out costumes for MLitt projects (students may not check out their own items); maintaining garment usage as detailed by the shop guidelines; re-stocking supplies; making racks available to MLitt projects as needed; assisting the MFA costume shop managers.

Expectations:

  • Report on time for scheduled work hours
  • Complete tasks in a timely fashion
  • Communicate with MFA costume shop managers on a weekly basis
  • Maintain proper shop etiquette
  • Assist MLitt students with checking out items

Qualifications:

  • Collaboration skills
  • Basic sewing skills
  • Costume maintenance skills
  • Organizational skills

Skills you will develop: Students in this position will learn the basics of costume shop management and learn how to collaborate with designers, directors, and shop managers.
