Job Duties:

This employee will be in charge of all program events and receptions at which food is served. This person will line up helpers from among the program’s GAs and work study assistants, shop for groceries, buy ice to stock coolers for beverages, and deliver food and coolers to event locations for approximately 5 or 6 events/year. This person will coordinate with and assist the MFA Company with their distinct food events, as needed. This employee will also work shifts in the program office between 10am and 5 pm, to ensure that the phone is always answered by a live person and to assist his/her supervisor with clerical tasks, as needed.

Expectations:

  • Report on time for scheduled work hours
  • Maintain accurate records of hours worked on Program google time sheet
  • Complete tasks in a timely fashion
  • Recruit extra helpers for food events as needed
  • Have knowledge about food and enjoy coming up with ideas for receptions and events
  • Answer the program telephone and assist with clerical projects as needed, at the discretion of the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Great organizational skills
  • Great public relations skills
  • Knowledge and creativity about food and food presentation
  • Strong and self-motivated work ethic
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel for office projects

Skills you will develop: Serving as the Program Hospitality Manager and Office Assistant will further the student’s development of all skills listed above, and he/she will gain valuable arts administration experience.

Hours: 7 – 8 hours per week
