Job Duties:
The Special Programs Assistant provides administrative support for The Election Live Broadcast, a highly successful program at MBU each fall semester. This person assists in the planning and execution of the Election Live Broadcast, and also supports transportation needs for students involved in civic engagement by driving students to local sites. In the spring semester this position will provide assistance either for the Model City Council program or for the Black History month and Theme events sponsored by the Spencer Center.
- Make room and event reservations
- Coordinate volunteers
- Work with local community groups to plan debate watching events
- Coordinate Voter registration activities
- (Possible) Contact local officials to arrange participation in Model City Council
- (Possible) Contact local high school teachers and students to coordinate events
- (Possible) Invite local school officials and coordinate participation
- Provide transportation (drive) MBU students to civic engagement sites as needed
