Job Duties: The student assistant will serve as a vital role in the Office of University Advancement, acting as an ambassador to Mary Baldwin’s alumni, donors, current students, and friends. Primary responsibilities include: writing thank you notes to donors, data entry of communications, department mailing support, larger program support such as but not limited to: assisting with our Day of Thanks, Deck the Hills, Day to Lead the Way (MBU’s Giving Day), assisting to gather content for programs, and assisting as needed the Office of Alumni Engagement.

  • Demonstrate consistent attention to detail
  • Have open communication and be dependable during scheduled work hours
  • Work diligently on assigned projects
  • Maintain and support positive relationships with the MBU community
  • Respect confidential information
  • Represent the university in a respectful manner

Qualifications:

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word & Excel proficiency
  • Neat handwriting

Skills you will develop:

A position in the University Advancement Office will provide the opportunity to strengthen communication skills through your contribution to strengthening relationships between donors and Mary Baldwin. While working to support various projects, you will gain marketing, organization, and strategic planning skills.

Hours: 10 hours per week
